Welcome to Jeans Making for Curves! By taking this course, you'll learn a whole host of jeans making techniques which will help you make the jeans you've always dreamed of. Jeans can seem very intimidating to sew if you haven't tried before - all that topstitching and hardware, not to mention using tools like a hammer which are usually far from the sewing room.

However, jeans aren't actually that hard to sew when you know how! This course takes you step by step through everything you need to know, from preparing your pattern, denim and tools, through to special sewing techniques and how to install that hardware.

Included with this course is a free* copy of the Cashmerette Patterns Ames Jeans pattern (choose from a downloadable PDF or a paper version that will be mailed to you) - of, if you have the Ames Jeans already, you can use your free coupon for any other Cashmerette pattern!. The Ames Jeans were designed for curves, with mix-and-match pelvis fits (apple or pear) and leg fits (straight or skinny). Choose whichever combo suits your shape and style, and you'll have a classic pair of high-rise jeans with 5 pockets, fly front, belt loops and curve-friendly fit.

I can't wait for you to join me as you learn to sew jeans!

*Shipping charge applies for paper pattern.

Jenny Rushmore

Hi, I'm Jenny! I founded Cashmerette because I was so frustrated with never being able to find clothes that fit my plus size, curvy body (hello, H cups!).

I learned to sew at the tender age of 30, excited by the potential of being able to make clothes that fit me, and also reflected my bold, print-loving style. But I immediately faced the same issue that I did with store-bought clothes: most of them didn’t come anywhere near to fitting me well, not least because most were designed for a B cup.

So I learned how to alter patterns and had the (literally!) life changing revelation: that I could change my clothes to fit my body, rather than changing my body to fit clothes.

And well, the rest is history! At Cashmerette we have the patterns, books, and workshops that I wish had existed when I learned to sew. This, here, is my life’s mission, and I’m so glad you’re along for the ride!

As for the rest of my life? Well, I live with my daughter just outside of Boston, Massachusetts, but I’m originally from the UK (still have the accent!), and am very familiar with the British Airways Boston-London flight schedules. When I get the time, I also love drawing, painting, and cooking fancy things.
